Bernal Heights
Due to my fascinating job I visit so many different areas of San Francisco Bay Area, I would like to share my experience with my followers.
Today I will talk briefly about the Bernal Heights. In the last 5 years, Bernal Heights has become a hot neighborhood for a first time home buyers in San Francisco. The neighborhood offers beautiful views, charming houses and quick access to freeway.
In 1839 the Mexican government granted land to Jose Cornelio Bernal. Bernal Heights was largely rural cow pasture, farmed by Swedish, German, and Irish immigrants. I highly recommended visiting Alemany Farmer’ Market, it is the oldest farmers' market in the Bay Area. It was started by John Brucato in the 1940s. The neighborhood is primarily residential, with a commercial strip along Cortland Avenue featuring restaurants, bakeries, a fish and butchery shop.
One of my favorite spots in San Francisco is Bernal Heights Park.
