Golden Gate Park was created in 1870. It is 20% larger than New York City’s Central Park, consisting of over 1,017 acres of land.
With 13 million visitors annually, Golden Gate Park is the fifth most-visited city park in the United States after Central Park in New York City, Lincoln Park in Chicago, and Balboa and Mission Bay Parks in San Diego.
